Miss New York's Outstanding Teen 2016

The former Miss Upstate New York’s Outstanding Teen will represent the Empire State this August at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida.

The Rochester, New York resident performed a contemporary Afro-Funk Dance-“Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” at the state pageant in Saratoga Springs, New York on April 10, 2016. Lauryn will continue to promote her platform, G.E.M.S.-(Girls Empowered Motivated and Shining: A Pathway to Confidence.) At age 13, Lauryn started this program to motivate young girls to make the most of their talents, skills, and interests and to gain the skills and confidence to be the best version of themselves.

Lauryn attends the Aquinas Institue of Rochester in her hometown. Lauryn aspires to attend Yale University, become an attorney and be elected Mayor of Rochester, New York. In her spare time Lauryn enjoys cooking for her 3 older brothers and was the youngest volunteer to earn the Rochester Red Cross Service Pin.
