Amanda lives in New York City.

Education

Amanda is a 2012 graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal and is currently pursuing her Masters in Music. She has also studied at the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and the New York Film Academy. She hopes to attend the esteemed Lindemann Young Artists Program and pursue a career in Opera performance.

Leadership

Amanda has spent time as a spokesperson for Safe AmericaNational Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, and Race Against Drugs. She served on the Manhattan School of Music student council, was a chair of National Foundation for Women Legislators literacy program “Making Reading A Reality” and founded her own drug prevention program, “Spread Your Wings.”

Platform

The Middle School Movement: Reaching Kids Before Drugs Do

Together with Safe America, Amanda developed a life-planning workbook called “Safe Tomorrows,” which helps middle-school students learn to evaluate and prepare for life's pressures and challenging moments.

Talent

A longtime opera student, Amanda performs classical vocal as her talent of choice.

Amanda was the youngest artist accepted into the Corso d'Opera program in Montepulciano, Italy and the youngest Soprano invited to study in Verona, Italy in the Opera Viva program. She has student under such names as June Anderson, Catherine Malfitano, Raul Gimenez, Bruno Bartoletti, Steven White, Tito Capobianco and Fabrizio Melano


I don’t want to just call myself a role model; I want to
teach students to become role models themselves. The Miss America Organization has built a reputation for real
activism and service, and I’ve done everything I can to pick up that ball and run with it. Ultimately, Miss New
York’s job is to be a public servant.
